Belize is located just south of Mexico
and east of Guatemala on the
Caribbean coast. The Belize carbonate complex is perhaps the most applicable
modern province to
exploration plays located on ancient shelves (Gulf Coast) and barrier reefs (Persian
Gulf), but also carbonate plays that occur on a shelf margins and basin reefs (Western Canada). Belize affords the observer the opportunity
to study potential carbonate source and seal rocks and early diagenetic process
that influence the same.
Resource team members will develop an appreciation for the
influence of depositional facies on primary and secondary recovery programs.
